Nevados de Chillán – Laguna del Laja Biological Corridor (Chile)

The Nevados de Chillán – Laguna del Laja Biological Corridor Biosphere Reserve, created in 2011. It is a transition area between the sclerophyllous forest of the central zone and the temperate forest of southern Chile. It stands out for its biodiversity, including endangered species such as the huemul (Hippocamelus bisulcus), this BR being the northernmost habitat of the species, separated from the rest of the populations in southern Chile.
