Member of Mountain Biosphere
Monte Grappa (Italy)
The centrepiece of the Biosphere Reserve is based on Monte Grappa – being a “bio-ecological bridge” between the Po Valley and the South-Eastern Alps and a point of union-division and therefore of balance and exchange between climates, ecosystems, cultures and economies. For those reasons is a place rich in variety, where there are not only habitats and ecosystems typical of its own region, but also testimonies of the neighbouring ones. It is characterised by the presence of environments ranging from the plain to the hilly, to the high-mountain belt.
