Langbiang (Vietnam)
Langbiang Biosphere Reserve is the first Biosphere Reserve recognized by UNESCO in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Located in the north of Lam Dong province, the Langbiang BR is considered one of four biodiversity centers in Vietnam and one of 221 endemic bird areas in the world.
The Langbiang BR is named after Langbiang mountain, where there is a romantic love story between Lang and Biang of the K’Ho people – an ethnic minority that has lived here for many generations. This is also one of 17 ethnic groups minorities create the “Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space” which has been recognized by UNESCO as a Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity (2005).
Located in the planned expansion space of Da Lat City – a famous tourist city of Vietnam – Langbiang BR is an attractive destination for tourists who want to experience and explore nature, culture, and people in this land.
