Gerês-Xurés (Spain-Portugal)
The territory has been the object of an ancient human occupation, since protohistoric times. There are still megalithic, Celtic, Roman and medieval remains. The mountainous landscape reaches its maximum level in the heights of Nevosa (1556 m) and Fontefría (1559 m). A succession of mountains from whose summits flow a multitude of rivers that pour their waters into the Caldo y Salas river, tributaries of the Limia river, which in their routes make up a spectacular landscape. The valleys descend to three hundred and fifty meters, carrying abundant water to the embedded bed and steep slopes such as the Limia river.
