Mount Huangshan (China)

Mount Huangshan Biosphere Reserve is located in southern Anhui province. It is in the hilly area on the stretching branch of Nanling Range in southeast China. Its forest ecosystem has been left most intact in east Asia since glacial epoch. It is a treasure trove with the richest mountain biodiversity in China, one of the areas with the greatest biodiversity at the same latitude all over the world. Mount Huangshan has a geological history of eight hundred million years, which is manifested in its combination of peak forest landform and glacial relics in one, along with other rich and typical landscapes such as cliffs, deep valleys and spectacular waterfalls. There are 88 high peaks at an altitude of 1000 meters above the sea level dotted around the area, among which the highest is Lotus peak, 1,864 meters above the sea level.
